Pharisees, Sadducees or Kingdom?

As I look at the intentions of God to provide for the advancement of the kingdom I started a journey of reflection of the early church. As the early church was put in place in the earth they were positioned to be a voice of authority in the spiritual realm of cities and regions. The true church defined by kingdom definition is the one moving in authority, carrying Gods breath with a fresh life-giving flow, ones esteeming each other and ones who love the lost that are longing for hope to be free. All the churches related to Paul as an apostolic father and he allowed each to have their own expression of spiritual life. There was not a central form of government but a kingdom structure and relationship alignment that allowed freedom of expression to be formed.

I wonder how today Paul would view the current church structures we have built with over 600 denominations and so many expressions with the bulk not relating to any apostolic father and having such diverse believe systems. It seems to me Paul would probably be rebuking them openly, and then if not repentant would be dis-fellowshipping many churches that would reject Gods ordained means of oversight. Paul would probably look at these religious positions as equal to Sadducees and Pharisees and forms of religion but denying the power of God to work through them. Disconnected to the kingdom and thus really not fully Christian or Christ like. Perhaps they would be looked at as new young believers but not truly disciples.

During the time of Christ and the New Testament era, the Sadducees were aristocrats. They tended to be wealthy and held powerful positions, including that of chief priests and high priest, and they held the majority of the 70 seats of the ruling council called the Sanhedrin. They seemed to be more concerned with politics than religion and being seen. They did not relate to the common man. This seems to be somewhat how the church today is viewed with the Hollywood style preacher with all the glitz’s and glamour. The other group the Sadducees who were legalistic only considered the written word to be true. The common person would relate the Pharisees who looked at oral traditions as equal to the written word. Both of these group put demands of offerings and giving upon people to support both of their traditions and to increase their positions of influence. This group to is easily seen in the current religious structures we have as well. The striving for position, jealousy, and the ladder of succession has created a great division and a spirit of competition, much like the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Paul even saw many who tried to imitate the apostles and even spoke the same messages. For these he accepted them as long as truth was presented but when truth was twisted or screwed he then would call them out and rebuke them. The woman declaring who Paul was for three days until Paul turned and rebuked her is a great example. The woman’s intention was to draw people after her and not Paul. Her insights and words were right but her intentions and motive was wrong, a self promotion to make converts to follow her. She was stating I also have this believe system to add to my own so if you join me you also are joining into Christianity.

So am I saying that many places need to be rebuked? Am I saying we disassociate with many churches? I know this may not be very popular but have we allowed so many belief systems to be formed because of us not wanting to confront what we know to be false doctrine or partial doctrine? The question always comes… who has made you the spiritual police? What I am saying is we are trying so hard to fit into the overall belief systems and expressions current in our culture, instead of realizing the Kingdom stands separated from all of these. Perhaps we should be more focused on birthing new kingdom focused apostolically connected churches. What if there truly was a network of these types of churches across our nation. What if apostles and prophets were being funded by these networks? What if apostles and prophets were truly accepted and embraced by these churches and had the freedom to travel to these to encourage them? We have spent so much in America on buildings and furnishings and not on supporting leaders and those really doing the work of the kingdom. Culturally in the church we are pretty messed up in our priorities and what we deem important. Culturally we want spotless bathrooms, 4” foam chairs, light shows, bible apps instead of written word, a condensed gathering, and no real confrontation that would create change. We want a soft word to create huge returns and to do ministry when it is convenient so we can feel good about ourselves. The formula is pretty simple to have success as a ministry. Don’t confront, don’t rebuke, don’t speak on repentance, holiness, sin and above all don’t have an expectation of change. As those from China years ago said America is the only nation you can have a successful ministry and God is nowhere to be found involved in what you are doing. Dutch Sheets said a couple of years ago “We know what to say and when to say it. We know how to cheer people on and have become real good at scheming instead of strategically planning.”

As we look backward longing for “old time revival”, we look at the outcomes but seldom look at the messages. Messages that were uncompromising and demanded responses. Messages that went for 2 hours not 30 minutes. Messages that came from preachers who had been through the heart dealings like Peter did so when they delivered it came from experience and not just correct exegesis.

The apostles traveled and their needs were provided by the church as a whole. Offerings were collected before they came and presented by laying them at the apostle’s feet. The life-giving flow of their messages they brought was confronting and convicting. They were in your face and pulled no punches, yet the people appreciated the honesty they presented and also the grace they brought that enabled them to go from glory to glory. They did not withhold their offerings as we do today, if something is not to our liking, but they gave and gave abundantly.  By today’s standards Paul’s ministry endeavors and team traveling with him would cost over a million dollars a year! Nobody is moving to this degree of kingdom provision.

So some real questions arise. How much time will be spent on trying to convince those who really don’t what to change and come into more of a kingdom expression? I for one am so tired of going to so many pastoral driven leadership meetings and seeing so little revelation, truth, and life-giving flow being presented. I look for the breath of God that creates and seldom find the anointing to speak for a few minutes under the spirits unction. It’s time we decide to let go of any religious connection and begin to truly spend our time on what we know to be true kingdom.

What decision? Ouija Boards?

So new years is now here and everything is to change isn’t it. All the resolutions for self-improvement, decisions for things we have wanted to change, but never did, and now suddenly we have courage to publicly announce that we are going to finally do this thing. We look forward to a brighter tomorrow each year and yet each year it seems nothing truly changes. For some magical reason we believe within a 24 hour period everything in our life is about to change. We celebrate the New Year with all kinds of events, parades, football and gatherings. Don’t worry, I even went to someone’s house for a couple of hours but it was more for fellowship than celebration. But celebrating does not put anything in motion.

We should know the times and seasons like the sons of Issachar and that means knowing more than how to turn of the calendar. For me the new year started about 7-8 weeks ago. It was a new year in the spirit realm and we already are in it. Gods calendar is not the same as ours. Much of the shifting we feel actually started shifting a few weeks ago, we just now are feeling or sensing the shift. So many prophetic words are given about the New Year, and for the most part I dismiss almost all of them. So many are given based on performing for the calendar moment, than truly being led by the spirit.

A New Year starts with so many people having a hope for the next year. This tells me two things. First people are not happy with their lives as they are. They look backward to dismiss the hard times of the year, so they turn forward with expectation for the future. That is the second thing I see each year the expectation of something to change. The desire is sitting inside of people; they just don’t know exactly how to make that change. They hope their sheer will power will do it, when in reality it requires their will to come under the will of God. He wants to be their hope and also be the catalyst of lasting change.

This year the greatest selling game at Christmas was the Ouija board! Alarming yes and no. It shows me the desire for the supernatural is extremely strong in people. But what it really shows me is the desire to know the future is even more dominant. As the world seems in such disarray and evil is increasing, people are starting to come into fear.  It’s a time of many unknowns, and people want something to believe in and also something to put their hope in. I see it both in the world and even in the church as people are leaning at times into fantasy, and spiritual speculations of an ideal world, job, or environment to walk out their faith in.  God did not say he would change the circumstance to be perfect but he would perfect us in circumstances so they do not have a hold on us. It’s time the church become the voice of the supernatural and the future. We need to not be giving some flowery prophetic words but some real words of direction. People are hungry right now and we need to wake up to what’s going on around us. I don’t know how much more ripe things have to be before we actually know the time and season we are sitting in. Jesus is our hope and future. He is our expected end. He has a plan for each person. We are to help people find that plan and find the person of the Christ.

Are You in Leviathan’s Stream?

Job 41:1, Psalm 74:14, Psalm 104:26, Isaiah 27:1

In the scriptures, Leviathan is seen as a demonic being we have to deal with. This morning in a conversation, the Lord gave me a great revelation concerning this demonic force and how it works. First, some background on what Leviathan is. It is a seven headed dragon-like creature that was believed to live in the streams. Its counterpart, Behemoth looks like a rhinoceros and lives in the mountains. Leviathan, having seven heads and a singular body, has a primary assignment to create indebtedness. It was called a twisting serpent and was believed to wrap itself around a person’s eyes and cause the inability to see sunlight. It also is seen in Hinduism as one of their gods. It is called a piercing serpent and is seen as piercing the base of the skull with its tail. The base of the skull by those in occultism is looked at as the point of Kundalini and also life force or flow. This is why yoga is so wrong; it tries to trigger this area of the skull. The base of the skull is also the place connected to astral projection and connected to the silver cord found in Ecclesiastes 12:6.

The revelation the Lord gave me is Leviathan is found in the streams or flows of many of the spiritual meetings going on right now in the overall church structure. It does not mean our stream is demonic, but I am speaking of past streams still occurring. I believe we may have allowed past streams to become polluted that allow access for this spirit. This demonic spirit is trying to stop others in older structures from experiencing the awakening by taking residence in old streams and affecting those participating in those past streams.

Since part of its assignment is to bring poverty or lack, this seems to be a major hold right now with many apostolic and Kingdom works. Many Kingdom centers and emerging voices and places of awakening are lacking in the area of funds to perform the Kingdom work and assignments. I believe it is directly related to a second indebtedness, an indebtedness to religious systems. This is seen as an obligation to remain in the past structures that have no life. Many in this hour are benefiting from apostolic alignments and from revelatory teaching found in emerging Kingdom centers, apostolic churches and other forerunner type ministries. But at the same time, many are still putting their tithe in past structures or streams due to being “indebted” to that structure by obligations, soul ties or traditions and not by real life-giving relationships. These fading structures should be approached from a missiology perspective by those still attending both them and the emerging move. These structures should not be looked at except through the eyes as a missionary place to minister life-giving flow. With this perspective, the area of finances would come into alignment and the funds needed to advance the awakening move would be in place.

Leviathan’s seven heads represents the double mindedness and inability to make a full commitment to embrace the light and revelation that lies before us. This demonic force comes to wrap in a twisting motion around us and to take the truth and twist it as well. The truth of freedom, awakening, reformation and Kingdom has been twisted by those who want to deny its graces upon others. The wrapping of its long neck over the eyes is the stoppage of revelation coming that “seeing, we might see and be converted.” The neck represents the will and it is allowing its will to cover instead of God’s will to fully cover.

Many outside of the Body are experiencing this in full force right now. Many are in such tight bondages and they are having such a hard time seeing truth. We have many different types of belief systems going at the same time. We are disjointed on End Times, Israel, the existence of five-fold ministry and function, the existence of the Holy Spirit, Kingdom/Church, open Theism, hyper- grace, and other multi- head beasts all fighting for a voice in the midst of the stream of truth. Many have taken over the stream fully and have become the main voice. Many of these streams are polluted and Leviathan is sitting in the midst of the streams controlling them.

The covering of Leviathan is scales of pride (Job 41:15). This pride is very evident in the Body of Christ. It says the scales are joined one to another. Pride seems to connect to others walking in pride and when this occurs, it becomes a covering we think is impregnatable. This is reflected in many pastoral gatherings, alliances and meetings. As we try to participate in supporting these gatherings, we do not fit many times. Do not come under these coverings. What you submit to, you then are indebted to. The verse goes on to say ‘his heart is as stone’. This is the outcome of pride, hardness of heart. Pride protects what must be changed. This demonic force has tried to stop the changing of hearts in this current move from unfolding. Pride is such a terrible thing in men’s lives. The unwillingness to admit to a need or a lack causes stoppage of God becoming strong in our weakness. When we say we are without need we then enter into self deception. This spirit has led many into this place. If not careful, they will become reprobate in mind. I strongly urge you to read all of Job 41 and see the things we are combating.

I hope these things make sense to you. I am seeing very clearly the struggles so many are going through are directly related to this demonic force. It is stopping the embrace of truth, awakening, etc. It has positioned itself in the streams of the past to try and stop the flow of new streams emerging today.

Our hope is found in Psalm 74:13 As God says He will break the head of Leviathan and feed it to the people in the wilderness. I think of a song Ric Pino sings and the words go like this “He gives us giants for our bread”. The victory of defeating this power will be living bread for us. He goes on to say He will dry up the streams he is living in. We better be sure we have the right stream flowing and are living our spiritual live in a single stream and not an old stream or a mixture of old and new.

In Isaiah 27:1, He says He will take His sword and slay Leviathan. That sword is in us. It says He will both punish and slay. I believe that punishment will come through the Saints, the holy remnant rising and standing against him. It is us staring at all seven heads and they no longer holding a grip around our eyes. When his will no longer is wrapping us and his scales of pride no longer covering us. Then the life Leviathan draws from us will be cut off with the sword and that same sword will slay him.

Building the Throne of God…. Part 4

Now with the foundation laid, I will begin to unfold the revelation of building the throne of God in Iowa. I will give a rather lengthy portion to unfold the revelation in one writing. Please read Rev. 4 and 5.
Revelation 4:1–3 (KJV 1900) — 1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
The trumpet is sounding in this hour. The word ‘trumpet’ is connected to a beckoning by reverberation. There is a coming together by the frequencies of heaven moving in our midst. This reverberation is the spiritual reflections of the throne itself. It is the graces flowing outward beckoning us inward. There is the need of things we have not seen yet but God is now showing these things to us.
Revelation 4:5 (KJV 1900) — 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
The Lord had given me a word about a year ago concerning the lightning and thunder. He said “the thundering is my prophets as they speak with My rumblings in the distance to hear. They always signal the storm of My presence before it appears. The Apostles are My lightening. They signal the storm is upon you. They strike fast and illuminate. They pierce darkness and bring heavens frequency to earth.”
The voices are the remnant ones who are speaking Kingdom language. They too, are needed in this hour. The seven lamps burning are the seven graces of God. The seven spirits are the seven natures of God. Notice the apostles, prophets and voices are coming out of the throne. The graces and natures are before the throne. God will rise up a new generation of apostles and prophets from where His throne is established. These voices will go through the graces (lamps) and natures (spirits of God). They will be ones to carry these to the earth. Iowa, get ready for a new breed of apostles, prophets and voices to emerge carrying a heavy weight of presence and graces to influence.
So what we are building is the elements around the throne. We have tried to copy earthly patterns of David’s tabernacle while yet the pattern is in heaven, the book of Hebrews explains. The elements seen there are the elements needed here. After all, we want God to descend and dwell, so this must have some similarity to the throne there. I’m not stating we set up an actual throne like Dowie did in Zion, Ill. But I am saying we need the elements.

Revelation 4:6 (KJV 1900) — 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
The throne is radiating glory — glory across our state — a frequency that comes from heavenly sounds being captured and reflected just like this sea that is like crystal. Iowa- we are to reflect these sounds. The sea of glass, the meeting place of heaven, captures all the sounds, colors and reflections. It is a place of motion and the only way we can truly reflect it is if we are in motion. We must build a sea of glass in our meetings. We must build meeting places before the throne across our state. We must build a place that the elders on this sea before the throne can begin to rule. Once we build this reflection, it will enable to move all of heaven into the earth.
These elders are both kings and priests. They are of the Melchisedec priesthood, able to minister to the Lord, cast their crowns, yet are on thrones like kings ruling. We are looking for elders of cities, ones who will protect the holiness of God and His righteousness. They will protect the redeemed from the accuser of the brethren as well. They will not be every pastor and possibly only be a few. But this apostolic covering will become the covering for the state. God is weaving a remnant as a single covering in Iowa, whose garment is carrying the priestly sight and sounds.

Rev. 5:8 The elders have harps, golden vials and odors of the prayers of the saints. This decribes their function as elders, Melchisedec priests and kings.
Harps — the stewarding of the sounds of heaven- “Spirit of worship”
Golden Vials – the stewarding of what will be poured out -“Spirit of Faith”
Odors – Stewarding of the requests or prayers of the saints -“Spirit of Prayer”
Elders are carrying the very song of God in their heart. They are great men and women of faith who have not been moved by opposition or lack of forward advancement because they are carrying the very prayers of the saints in their hearts, waiting for fire to come.
Revelation 8:1–5 (KJV 1900) — 1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
There are the three again: Voices are the remnant, thundering is the prophets and lightening is the apostles. These will be moved by the fire mingled with what they have carried in their hearts, the prayers of the saints. We all are waiting for the fire to come but who has carried the prayers of the saints in their hearts with faith and the song of the Lord?

In Rev. 5:9 a new song is song, a song of the Lamb, a song of redemption begins to be sung by the elders, then the voice, and the four beasts. It is a song that both connects humanity to heaven and reveals heaven through humanity. The four beasts will release the four breaths found in Ezekiel and begin to move the seven glories into motion. This divine activity of heaven upon earth is done first through the elders and voices. It sets the entire heavenly host into motion.
So this is the beginning of my understanding of building a throne for God in our state. We must find the true elders over cities and regions and let them be released as they are carrying the prayers of the saints in their hearts. We must form gathering places like the Sea of Glass before the throne. We must allow the thunder and lightning to fully have a place as the prophets and apostles will come forth. We must establish a holy community flowing as one with a singular focus on HIM. There will be more to come in the days ahead as the revelation unfolds.

Building the Throne of God…. Part 3

Before I go to the heart of the revelation of building the throne let me simply list some things about the throne. We all know that Moses saw the throne of God and the sea of glass. He was able to take 70 elders into that same vision so they could receive the same spirit. That same spirit was the nature of God and the graces with that nature. Moses asked the Lord if he had found “grace” the age of grace and God said no as it had not yet been given. David saw the same things concerning the throne and asked the same question and got the same answer. Now today we are stuck on redemptive grace and do not even associate that the throne has multiple graces to draw from. Isaiah saw the throne as well and saw the train or mantel of a high priest filling the temple. This is symbolic of apostolic covering or mantling to insure consecration, abundance, and accomplishment coming forth.
The following characteristics are what Gods is building. It is descriptive of having Holy Community with each other and esteeming each other. It is descriptive of graces that we can draw from at different times.
• God’s throne is a place of power and authority. In 2 Chron 18:18, the prophet Miciah relates his vision of God’s throne room, in which spirit beings stand in attendance. It is a place of Gods rule.
• God’s throne is a place of majesty and honor. The Bible says that, when Jesus ascended to heaven, He “sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12.2). There is no higher place than heaven. God is the King of heaven, and Jesus holds the place of honor at Gods right hand. So it is a place of honor and esteeming each other like the Godhead does. The throne is a place of non- competiveness and a place of valuing each as an individual and all as a collective.
• God’s throne is a place of perfect justice. “He has prepared His throne for judgment” Ps 4:7. Justice will prevail when Gods throne is in place. This is the place of imprecatory prayer and coming before the courts of heaven to petition that decisions be rendered.
• God’s throne is a place of sovereignty and holiness. “God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne” Ps 47:8. The throne has always been in place and will forever be in place. It is the ultimate rule full of mercy and grace and full of judgment and righteousness.
• God’s throne is a place of praise. John’s vision of heaven includes a scene in which a “new song” is sung in praise to the One who occupies the throne. Rev 5. The creative dimensions of God are endless.
• God’s throne is a place of purity. Only the redeemed, those who have been granted the righteousness of Christ, will have the right to stand before His throne.
• Rev 14:5.God Throne is a place of eternal life. A life giving flow. Rev 22:1.The throne radiates this life as he holds all things in his hands.
• God’s throne is a place of grace. Not only does the throne of God represent judgment for the unbeliever, but it also represents mercy and grace for His children. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” Heb 14:16. It is not just a singular grace but is full of graces.
• God’s throne is a meeting place of the elders. Rev 4:10-11.Before the throne the sea of glass is in motion. It is the meeting place of heaven. This is where the elders are seated on their thrones and the place they bow down and cast their crowns.

Now this is quite a list and not all inclusive by any means. So what does it mean to build a Throne? All I know is the throne is everything we see in heaven which included specifically everything around the throne as well. Tomorrow part

Building the Throne of God …. Part 2

Let me begin by giving a vision I had of the throne. I have had several thrown room visitations and I will only speak of the most recent one. I was in a meeting in Paducah Kentucky with Apostle David Kelly and Freed Center. During the worship I had a vision of the throne and Jesus seated there. I knew the vision would part of my journey and I also had a sense it was for the speaker John Alley. I alter would find out just how far reaching this vision was.

In this vision I was taken to the throne. Jesus was seated there and before him were 5 steps representing grace. A large stone table was before him just beyond the bottom step. On this stone table were two large scrolls. Each a single scroll with handle son both ends. The paper in the middle was not paper but was liquid granite spinning. These scrolls seemed to be availed to anyone wishing to reach out for them.

I saw the Lord bend over while seated and lift the scroll on his right. When he did the fiery spinning granite would continue to spin and suddenly a tongue of fire would come out several feet protruding in the direction of the other scroll. When it went out it then would become solid granite and had writing on it that could be seen from the throne. The lord would begin to drop the scroll and the tongue of granite would repel back into the fiery spinning scroll. The Lord would pick up the other scroll and in same manner it would all occur again protruding towards the other scroll as well. Then he would place that scroll down on the stone table as well.

Then he would lean backward and simply call for the scroll. He was calling for it because he wanted to stay at rest. The scroll he called for would lift from the table and beginning to fly around the throne all ablaze and spinning. It would come into his hand and then he raised it. The Lord said, “When you raise this scroll in your hand it will become a living scepter by which to rule from.” Then he would release the scroll and it would flay and return. The second scroll again was repeated through this process and the same words of it being a living scepter was spoken when he raised it.

Then I saw the Lord reach down to the table and pick up both scrolls at once. The tongues of fire came forth just like before but now the two joined in the middle and interlocked. They became hard like granite again and I could hear the angles say you can stand on this now. The words appeared on each scroll and when they came together in the middle they became a single sentence to be read. I knew this meant a seamless grace could be found in the Old and New testaments. God was showing me something of great magnitude about the throne, his seven graces, his seven natures and what he desired to bring forth.

In the vision I knew I could also take the far handle and lift the scroll at any time as well and it would become solid with writing. The throne is knowing the time and seasons and also the intentions of God. It also is declaring with all boldness the scepter of His word. Ruling with that word and allowing that word to be flaming sword by which we rule. It is place where the priests of God who carry his nature release his expression. These priests are beginning to be woven into a single garment and covering for our state. They as a remnant, a holy community, a covering much like the covering of these flying flaming scrolls. They have been set aside to handle the holy things of God. The flaming spinning whirlwinds of heavens scroll. These priest will rule and reign and decree with all authority standing on the word as they read a seamless grace. They will steward that grace seeing the new wineskin of Sonship being birthed to hold the new wine of Holy Community. Tomorrow part 3.

Building the Throne of God….Part 1

The Lord spoke to me a couple months ago and said to me, I want you to build my throne in Iowa.” I was a little got by the words and felt who am I do to such a thing. There is no way I can build Gods throne, only he can do that. But it took me on a journey to try and discover exactly what God was saying to me. Was it a type and shadow, was it literally, or did it have a hidden meaning?

Hebrews 4:16 (KJV 1900) — 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

For starters a throne is a place of ultimate rule. It is appoint of governing and also decrees. It is representative of a nation, country, or a group of people. God’s throne is a place of divine power and final authority. Gods thrown is a place of grace. Not just grace in the normal understanding of saving grace or redemptive grace, but all graces associate with the 7 natures of Christ found in Isaiah 11:2-3. So to build a throne is to build grace. Paul actually came to the point of stewarding grace in Eph 3. 1-3 when he said he was given a dispensation of grace. So a throne is a place of dispensing grace as well. The grace is sitting waiting on an activity that activates it …. The nature of God in us is the catalyst.

The throne is also sovereign and represents the sovereignty of God. It is what everything in heaven and earth is revolving around. It is also a place that is supporting the one seated. It is not so much a chair of how we see a king sitting, but a place of resting upon grace. When the Bible speaks of God’s “throne,” the emphasis is on God’s, transcendence, his dignity, and sovereign rule. The fact that His throne is in heaven further underscores the transcendent nature of God’s existence.

The word transcendence means “to exist above and independent from; to rise above, surpass, succeed.” Being transcendent, God is both the unknown and unknowable, yet God continually seeks to reveal Himself to His creation. In other words the unknown seeks to be known. This transcendent nature that places Him beyond the reach of His creation is His holiness and His righteousness. So the throne to build will exist separated and part from all the other thrones. It will not be associated with manmade thrones and kingdoms but will be above it. It will surpass that which is currently being seen.

So I have begun to see I can’t actually build a throne as we would know it but I can build the things around the throne and also dispense the grace that comes from that throne. How strange of us to look at Moses tabernacle and David’s tabernacle and go back and try to copy these things, when God said he would build His tabernacle as he desired. In Hebrews it talks about the patterns of the heaven and its reflection on the earth. Perhaps we should be building according to the heavenly pattern instead of copying a past earthly pattern. Tomorrow part 2.

Investing the Revelation Again

Tonight I got into a conversation with my wife about all the people we have invested into over the years. As I began to reflect on the investment I have made, not just in conferences and speaking to people along the journey of life, I also started to once again remember the past investment of all the sons and daughters we invested into as well. Perhaps I should explain that so you fully grasp what I mean.

We started and ran a school of ministry for over 12 years. We had a high attendance of 45 students teaching 450 hours in a first year and 70 additional hours in a second year. This along with 2 services a week and hours weekly in mentoring and spiritual father the students. Because we housed students and our offices were right there, and with our open door policy we spend a lot of time investing. It would be equal to almost 10 years of teaching in a weekly church service done in one year. In other words a lot of investing and more than most leaders could ever imagine. These students for the most part became my sons and daughters.

Over time some students left and moved on with life. Some to go out and only be involved in life. Still others to do ministry and have impact around the world. A few went backward to old mindsets. Over the years I have been asked a single question repeatedly. How do you keep investing when so many seem to later deny the investment in their lives and dishonor you in their decisions? I hear this about every 3-4 months minimum. Well first they dishonor Gods investment in their lives and second the next person coming along deserves the same chance of investment as the previous ones. You see it’s not me to decide what to do with the investment, it is up to the individual. They will one day have to give an account for was given to them.

Recently we had a prophetic word “do it all over again”. My first thought was “really God are you serious.” You see before we started over 50 schools internationally. We did 3-4 major conferences a year drawing a couple hundred people. We ran a daily school, traveled overseas at least 2-3 times a year with teams and traveled speaking in conferences. All in all raising a family, birthing ministries and coming along side leaders all at the same time was quite the task. I have started down the journey again and even though most think things are moving I feel we are just getting started and are at the beginning stages.

Today the investment continues but this time it is different. This time God has brought me not a bunch of young adults but more mature and seasoned. He has brought me leaders from across the nation who are serious about investment and who immediately put it into practice. God is bringing the prequalified. In all honesty I feel honored by those I’m currently investing into, following my post, listening to my message, and reading my books. It is very different this time in many ways. The influence of Gods working grace in my life makes me feel humbled and very much serious about the next steps to take as we will “do it all over again”.

But what I am investing now is greater wisdom and revelation than any time in the past. Within the last 2 years I feel what I am releasing now does not compare to what was invested in times past. It seems like all of the past was training in “how” and now is the release of “what”. Now what I am believing for is the “who”.

The prophetic word said “Young people would come from all over the nation and live here at the BASE to be spiritually fathered”. I’m believing for another group of young adults, another group of radical warriors, a group that has been presorted instead of post sorted. I believe for those God would relocate here to be a part of things not just for a season, but possible long term in building a Midwest center, a major ministry in Iowa. God has put in my heart to build his throne here in Iowa in the heart of the nation, the first place his throne is really built is the heart. To build a dwelling, to build a spiritual community, to build a people into true sons and daughters who are active not just in faith but in impact.

Observation – The Holy Spirits Fresh Breath!

I wanted to write a different kind of blog today. It is about some observations I’m seeing more than a teaching. We all are still seemingly waiting for a sustained move of God and I want to encourage all that it is both happening now and yet to appear. First, I would say in the last few weeks a transition has occurred. There is something new that has unfolded. Greater expectation. Greater hope. An increase in dreams and God speaking in the night. The next level of revelation is beginning and changes of delivery of it. Hunger in People where there once wasn’t. We are seeing pockets of movement and also pockets of preparation for what is coming. I see God in His providential way working through some pockets of people seeing revival type meetings while others are not, but all are a deep work of the Spirit. The outpouring meetings we see starting are only a foretaste of what is coming and have been brought to encourage the remnant company to contend and continue to contend.

The more we contend without seeing the results we desire, the more we will steward, appreciate and sustain the sovereign move of God when it appears. I think we do not realize that which we are pursuing of God’s sovereign hand coming will not just be a move of God but will be the end of an age and the beginning of an eternal age fully appearing. This is the real contending and why the resistance has been so relentless. But I do see the opening of heaven enlarging over places and the remnant no longer being pushed back, but pushing back. The focus of many is shifting from what the enemy is doing to what the Lord is doing. This is the shift from the temporal perspective to the eternal. Those looking at what the enemy is doing are still in an old mindset and show no real vision of the future, the Kingdom or what is emerging. This is seeing in the natural and not seeing in the Spirit.

There is a division occurring in this moment. The Church age is fighting against the Kingdom age. It is like the days of Christ; a Pharisee’s system is in place, lifelessly holding to itself while the Kingdom is before them. The Kingdom is about to come with signs that will begin to confront. Signs that will show forth Kingdom principles and dynamics that will create hunger again in those lost in church-dom. Revelation has come but application and activation of it is slow in being walked out. Yet we are in a season of acceleration. The acceleration is the Spirit’s wind knowing what is coming is truly coming and will not be delayed. It is like a time line is unfolding to get to a finish line.

There are three groups of people in this hour: forerunner pioneer voices of awakening and an eternal age coming. These are visionaries who have revelation concerning the new and living way that is here. They are challenging others to live in holiness and passion for His presence. Their scope is wider than a local gathering and if they are only at that place, they will become frustrated. The second group is a remnant of sold out ones being trained to sustain the awakening. They are grass roots people more Spirit led than by emotions, doctrine, or being part of a collective (unless it’s Spirit led). They are paying a price to be positioned for the future yet their positioning will do two things: first it will sustain the awakening and second it will not allow the harvest to be spoiled. Many of them will be called out to lead and disciple when all things begin to unfold. The third group of course, is those that do not recognize Kingdom dynamics. They are the ones receiving the blessing of the Kingdom without truly understanding the Kingdom. They are in the church as we currently know it and also the group that is not born again. This group has the remnant within it and prodigals as well.  We are seeing some of these now exiting this grouping and coming into the second group. As prodigals, they never fit the structures and now they are seeing that they fit the Kingdom. The challenge right now is finding them. I am beginning to see that they are finding us!

As God is bringing forth this awakening, it is coming from the ‘bottom’ up. It is not coming from major voices or leaders. In all honesty, the prophetic words coming in this hour that are carrying the most weight are more regional than national. They are more invested and prayed into an area and thus the prophetic word given carries more weight. These words are touching more of the current moment and cross over regions as it is relatable to other areas that are in sync with the Spirit’s activity.

We are seeing that we must be able to move with the Spirit in the moment of time we find ourselves in. This means abandoning our preconceived planned message and patterns of services we are doing. As great as the prophetic and creative flow worship has become, we now must bring this same type of flow in preaching and ministry. This is the training of the Spirit currently beginning as it is also necessary and part of our future. Teaching is moving away from corporate gatherings with worship, etc. to times of set intentional instruction. Corporate gatherings are to be free flowing with activation into function while teaching moments are more discipling outside of these times. Preaching is now coming forth (not from notes) but from the wells of the Spirit’s deposit. A new life giving flow in delivery is occurring that is confronting hearts. Teaching then comes to disciple those hearts. This is the new pattern that is emerging. It will bring forth the holiness preachers and “old time revivalist” types of old. But with instruction in place, people will be able to receive the message of change knowing they can get help and answers through the discipling means.

We are becoming more aware of the spiritual realm than ever before. We are seeing more and more signs in the sky such as images in clouds, angels being caught on film and other supernatural events. We are seeing attempts (though some are doctrinally incorrect) in films being produced. There is spiritual hunger in people in this hour. Much of the fantasy and what I call “spiritual woo” is diminishing and greater maturity is occurring. We are becoming more aware of Presence over program, character and nature of God, and His breath over anointings. There are more visions and dreams coming forth and most are more easily discerned and understood than times past. It seems clarity is now upon us and is helping us to more easily find the path than in times past. God is fine tuning us in this hour, both aligning and causing us to come into His frequency from heaven.

As Kingdom centers, etc. are now emerging and are far more relational than conferences, we will see a shifting of these regional centers begin to replace the need of conferences. People will come to centers to receive instruction and also accountability with that instruction. The impact will become greater and the emerging Ecclesia will be seen coming forth from or relating to these places. We are seeing strong voices that used to just speak in conferences now beginning to come into these smaller venues to minister. It also is a developing place for new emerging voices. Each of these centers is unique. Just like the members of the Body are not the same, so are the expressions of each of these centers. They draw from a region instead of a city. There is struggle with finances right now with emerging centers but as soul ties and obligations are dealt with by the Spirit, a release of both support and commitment will begin to come forth. The value being given will demand an honor to be shown in return. This next transition for the current centers will cause others to see what is being offered and to take notice. The outcome will be greater influence and shifting again of the Body to participate.

Many in this hour are transitioning from church to apostolic or Kingdom churches. Others are transitioning from houses of prayer to Kingdom centers while others are changing from old structure churches to training centers. The main thing is that it seems all in the flow of the Spirit are transitioning in some way. The main problem is trying to define the new thing with old mindset and thinking. We must know what truth is being emphasized by God in this moment. We also must know what past words we are still to carry into the new assignments. This does not mean past words are void but may have had conditions that were not fulfilled in some way. We must also know church-dom is influencing us more than we think and is making it hard for us to think out of the box. Even our terminology is being redefined. The answer is again to see things through Kingdom perspectives and dynamics. All hard questions can only be answered through Kingdom thinking.

All the transitions we currently see are preparation for what is coming. A shifting of ages, a shifting of leadership is now underway, a shifting of functions, a shifting from churches and houses of prayer to healing rooms and Kingdom centers. A shifting from one man to team ministry, from locked potential to released potential. From dreams and desires unattainable to becoming fully realized. It indeed is a tremendous moment to be placed upon the earth! It is actually an honor God has placed upon us to steward these things, be these things, and do these things!

Elders of the City #2

I am continuing with the topic of elders of the city. Many have responded to me about how the first article has helped place key people who do not have an official ministry yet carry great influence in cities. For a long time, we have not been able to place people into a structure who seem to have strong influences. They just don’t fit in the Eph 4 grace gifts, nor do they seem to have a voice in a local assembly. This understanding has helped many as they have contacted me personally and said they now see where they fit. As I met with one man locally, he asked me what the key is, as I see it, to connect our state. I told him to find the elders of the cities and the fathers of the state.

Titus 1:5 (KJV 1900) — 5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Notice again, they ordained elders in every city, not in every gathering of believers and certainly not in every church as the Church was seen as one. Paul, in the following verses gives a list of qualifiers for eldership. We take this list and look at it through a church model. We need to look at it through a Kingdom model and see the influence of culture that it carries.

Titus 1:6–9 (KJV 1900) — 6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

As we look for Biblical pattern, this mindset paradigm shift of eldership really comes alive once we begin to unfold it. For years I have heard of people trying to put a tag on key influential people in the book of Acts. I have heard Priscilla and Aquila placed as apostolic leaders and Ananias as a prophet. It seems we feel they must be in a ministry gift/grace to function and have impact. This is far from the truth. Many have been called apostles or prophets trying to fit our current understanding. Now I clearly see they are really elders of cities functioning as such.

Ananias was an elder of the city and recognized by many. When he went to Paul and welcomed him, he was welcoming him into the family of God but also into the brethren of the city. When Aquila and Priscilla ministered to Paul (Acts 18) they did it from the position of eldership. Thus Paul had an open door to minster in that city because of their positioning. Further reading shows Tabitha who appears to carry eldership qualities, was raised from the dead in Acts 9. It appears she was “A Certain Disciple”. Perhaps this focus may point to eldership in the book of Acts.

In Acts 10, we see Cornelius is a devout man who feared God and was a man of prayer. He also was a centurion. A centurion was an officer in the Roman army. So he is a man of responsibility. This sounds like qualities of an elder. He has a vision and has authority to send for Peter to receive Peter’s input. Because of his concern for the Church, the Gospel is eventually opened to the Gentiles.

In Acts 17:34, Paul had an encounter with “certain” men again. One of them is Dionysius, a name we really know nothing about. This man was converted in this encounter and stayed steadfast in the Lord. Historical records show this man later became the first bishop of Athens and carried tremendous influence over the city.

We also see that every time a major transition occurred in Acts, three groups met to discuss: the apostles, the elders and the Ecclesia. The apostles would bring up the subject and input was received from the eldership. The Ecclesia remained silent. When it was finally decided, the Ecclesia affirmed the decision and it was in motion. Imagine today if we gathered these three groups to make transitions and establish correct doctrine in this pattern. Doctrine and strategy that did not affect a single church but the entire Body of Christ in a city or region! We have limited the scope of eldership to a small group when in Kingdom dynamics, it was to help govern and oversee entire cities and regions.  We need to find the elders of cities and the fathers in states to establish the future.
